Trying to get fit n healthy n age well

I hope anyone interested in getting fit, eating right and aging well will read my blog and we will take a journey together.

I am over 50 now and I think some people think I am younger than I am, which is a good thing. But I look in the mirror and see the circles under the eyes and the wrinkles above my eyes and I know the truth. I have to believe that what matters is what is in your heart and soul and not what is on the outside. However, people are quick to judge us by our covers.

I would like to take a first step in this process. First, I am trying to lose between 10-15 pounds in about 8-10 weeks. I think this is doable. Would love to hear from anyone who would like to take this journey with me. I am going to try something I have never done. I will not weigh myself until two weeks have past. In that time, I should feel thinner by my clothes. I am going to do 6 sessions of cardio a week and 3 weight training sessions a week. I will eat healthy low fat protein (about 5-6 oz. maximum), have 2 pieces of fruit a day and about 4 servings of vegetables (at least) a day and three low fat dairy products. In the beginning, I will have oatmeal (1 serving usually for breakfast) and maybe one or 2 more whole grain servings later in the day. I will allow myself 3 healthy fat servings a day at maximum.
